{"data":{"id":"us-ky/krs-371.310","jurisdiction":"us-ky","citation":"KRS 371.310","heading":"Assignment of contracts and agreements.","body":"Notwithstanding the provisions of any other law:\n(1) An assignee may purchase or acquire or agree to purchase or acquire any retail\ninstallment contract or retail charge agreement or any indebtedness under either\nfrom a seller on such terms and conditions  and for such price as may be mutually\nagreed upon;\n(2) Filing of the assignment, notice to the buyer of the assignment and any requirement\nthat the seller be deprived of dominion over payments upon a retail installment\ncontract or retail charge agreement , or over the goods if returned to or repossessed\nby the seller, shall not be necessary to the validity of a written assignment of the\nretail installment contract or retail charge agreement or any indebtedness under\neither as against creditors, subsequent purchasers, pledgees, mortgagees and lien\nclaimants of the seller; and\n(3) Unless the buyer has notice of the assignment of his retail installment contract,\nretail charge agreement or any indebtedness under either, payment therefor made by\nthe buyer to th e holder last known to him shall be binding upon all subsequent\nholders.","path":["KRS Chapter 371"],"source_url":"https://apps.legislature.ky.gov/law/statutes/statute.aspx?id=35249","current_through":"Includes enactments through the 2026 Regular Session","vintage":"09/05/2026","retrieved_at":"2026-09-05T20:59:08Z","sha256":"cc17a1c9af9fe218cd4f0fb5cc712c1514feccef7c475306a91270aa4bd4b646","source_id":"us-ky","stale":false,"prev":"us-ky/krs-371.300","next":"us-ky/krs-371.320"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
