{"data":{"id":"us-ky/krs-376.195","jurisdiction":"us-ky","citation":"KRS 376.195","heading":"Definitions for KRS 376.195 and 376.210.","body":"As used in this section and in subsection (1) of KRS 376.210:\n(1) \"Labor\" includes all work done by teams, trucks, machinery, and mechanical\nequipment, whether the owner furnishes a driver or operator or not, but it shall not\ninclude labor performed by any  officer, superintendent or stockholder of any\ncorporation even though he may perform manual labor on the public work;\n(2) \"Materials\" includes all materials of every kind or character used in the public\nimprovement which shall remain as a part of the comp leted improvement, and all\nthe materials substantially consumed or the value thereof substantially destroyed in\nmaking the public improvement, including explosives, gasoline, oil, grease, form\nlumber and other similar articles; and,\n(3) \"Supplies\" includes small tools and equipment reasonably necessary in performing\nthe work required to be done, including picks, shovels, sledge hammers, axes,\npulleys, wire cables, ropes, and other similar items costing not more than fifty\ndollars ($50) per item, and tires a nd tubes furnished for use on vehicles engaged in\nthe performance of the work;\n(4) \"Supplies\" also includes the cost of labor, materials, and repair parts supplied or\nfurnished for keeping all machinery and equipment used in the performance of the\nwork in good operating condition; and, shall include the agreed or reasonable rental\nprice of equipment and machinery used in performing the work to be done;\n(a) The lien for rental of equipment or machinery shall not be more than the\naggregate sum of six (6) mont hs' rental, and the aggregate amount of such\nrental shall not exceed sixty percent (60%) of the agreed value of the\nmachinery or equipment; and\n(b) The liens for supplies as defined in this subsection are subordinate to the liens\nfor labor, material and su pplies as defined in subsections (1) to (3) of this\nsection.","path":["KRS Chapter 376"],"source_url":"https://apps.legislature.ky.gov/law/statutes/statute.aspx?id=35302","current_through":"Includes enactments through the 2026 Regular Session","vintage":"09/05/2026","retrieved_at":"2026-09-05T20:59:08Z","sha256":"889dc5972c27496c2b9216a4b33d8a6aca1ce6567e2456145b5fad7d2951a6b1","source_id":"us-ky","stale":false,"prev":"us-ky/krs-376.190","next":"us-ky/krs-376.200"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
