{"data":{"id":"us-ky/krs-376.280","jurisdiction":"us-ky","citation":"KRS 376.280","heading":"Sale of boat or motor vehicle for charges -- Advertisement of sale --","body":"Definition of \"boat.\"\n(1) Any boat or motor vehicle remaining in the possession of a person who has made\nrepairs, performed labor or furnished accessories or supplies therefor and t o whom\nthe charges for such repairs, labor, accessories or supplies has been owing for a\nperiod of more than thirty (30) days, may be sold to pay such deferred purchase\nmoney or charges. The proposed sale shall be advertised pursuant to KRS Chapter\n424, and notice thereof shall be sent by certified mail, return receipt requested or by\nregistered mail to the owner of the boat or motor vehicle and to any other person\nknown to have any interest therein, addressed to such persons at their last known\naddresses, at least ten (10) days before the sale is held.\n(2) The term \"boat,\" as used in subsection (1) of this section, means any watercraft not\nenumerated in subsection (1) of KRS 376.360 and sloops having an overall length\nof forty (40) feet or less.","path":["KRS Chapter 376"],"source_url":"https://apps.legislature.ky.gov/law/statutes/statute.aspx?id=35316","current_through":"Includes enactments through the 2026 Regular Session","vintage":"09/05/2026","retrieved_at":"2026-09-05T20:59:08Z","sha256":"b8b4b75570a58946328760227b49f0d9e97d8239ddfbf18f918eeda673499a49","source_id":"us-ky","stale":false,"prev":"us-ky/krs-376.275","next":"us-ky/krs-376.281"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
