{"data":{"id":"us-ky/krs-379.020","jurisdiction":"us-ky","citation":"KRS 379.020","heading":"Deed of assignment -- Recordation -- Effect of deed -- Schedule of assignor.","body":"(1) The deed of assignment shall be acknowledged by the assignor in the same manner\nas other deeds and shall be recorded in the county clerk's office of the county where\nthe assignor resides, where the business in respect to which the deed is made is\ncarried on, and in each county where a tract of land or the greater part thereof\nconveyed by the deed is situated.\n(2) The deed shall vest in the assignee title to all the propert y, real and personal, with\nall deeds, books and papers relating thereto belonging to the assignor at the time of\nmaking the assignment, except property exempt by law which shall not pass unless\nembraced in the deed. The intent of the assignor in making the  assignment, whether\nappearing upon the face of the deed or otherwise, shall not invalidate the deed,\nunless he is solvent and it appears that the assignment was made to hinder or delay\ncreditors.\n(3) The assignor shall, within five (5) days from the day u pon which the deed is lodged\nfor record, file for record in the county where the assignee qualifies a schedule\nunder oath, setting forth the general nature and full value of the property assigned,\ntogether with a list of his creditors, their post office ad dress, the amount due each\nand whether secured by lien or not.","path":["KRS Chapter 379"],"source_url":"https://apps.legislature.ky.gov/law/statutes/statute.aspx?id=35362","current_through":"Includes enactments through the 2026 Regular Session","vintage":"09/05/2026","retrieved_at":"2026-09-05T20:59:09Z","sha256":"bcea18bb064e598bb55352dd5be34c18794848937bf09c15dfb90676548f8e33","source_id":"us-ky","stale":false,"prev":"us-ky/krs-379.010","next":"us-ky/krs-379.030"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
