{"data":{"id":"us-ky/krs-38.010","jurisdiction":"us-ky","citation":"KRS 38.010","heading":"Definitions for chapter.","body":"As used in this chapter, unless the context requires otherwise:\n(1) \"Kentucky National Guard\" includes the Army National Guard and Air National\nGuard;\n(2) \"Active Army National Guard and active Air National Guard\" includes those\norganizations, officers, an d enlisted personnel, both male and female, of the\nfederally recognized Kentucky National Guard authorized to receive federal pay,\narms, and equipment;\n(3) \"Inactive Army National Guard and inactive Air National Guard\" includes those\norganizations, officer s, and enlisted personnel, both male and female, of the\nKentucky National Guard not entitled to receive federal pay, arms, and equipment;\n(4) \"State active duty\" is:\n(a) The ordering by the Governor of personnel or units of the Kentucky National\nGuard to perform any duty authorized by KRS 38.030(1)(a);\n(b) Officers, warrant officers, and enlisted personnel employed under orders of\nthe Governor in making tours of inspection, mustering in or mustering out\ntroops, making surveys of military property, sitting o n courts -martial,\nsummary courts, efficiency boards, courts of inquiry or boards of officers, or\nperformance of any other duty directed by the Governor or adjutant general;\n(c) The participation of any unit or units of the Kentucky National Guard in\ngunnery competition or other training or military exercise anywhere within or\nwithout the United States.\n(5) Words importing the masculine gender only shall extend to and be applied to\nfemales as well as males.","path":["KRS Chapter 38"],"source_url":"https://apps.legislature.ky.gov/law/statutes/statute.aspx?id=21525","current_through":"Includes enactments through the 2026 Regular Session","vintage":"09/05/2026","retrieved_at":"2026-09-05T20:48:55Z","sha256":"47250d7a546cad70501de24a37923358d359eba570be5bbde649c6758e2d961c","source_id":"us-ky","stale":false,"prev":"us-ky/krs-379.170","next":"us-ky/krs-38.020"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
