{"data":{"id":"us-ky/krs-38.495","jurisdiction":"us-ky","citation":"KRS 38.495","heading":"Duties of adjutant general relating to life insurance for National Guard","body":"members.\n(1) As used in this section:\n(a) \"Member\" means a member of the Kentucky National Guard; and\n(b) \"Program\" means the state -sponsored group term life insurance pr ogram\nexclusively offered to all members of the Kentucky National Guard through\nthe National Guard Association of Kentucky, as provided in 37 U.S.C. sec.\n707.\n(2) The adjutant general shall:\n(a) Facilitate and coordinate all efforts to make the program ava ilable to all\nmembers, including the period of time during initial enlistment or\ncommissioning;\n(b) Provide an opportunity for members to enroll in or modify life insurance\nunder the program, which shall include allowing members to designate or\nchange beneficiaries;\n(c) Facilitate and coordinate requested allotments for the payment of premiums:\n1. Using the United States Defense Finance and Accounting Service\nmilitary pay allotment with the appropriate United States Property and\nFiscal Office; and\n2. For life insurance under the program; and\n(d) Allow program representatives to provide Kentucky National Guard units with\nprogram briefings during annual training, drill weekends, and other\nopportunities to educate members on program benefits.","path":["KRS Chapter 38"],"source_url":"https://apps.legislature.ky.gov/law/statutes/statute.aspx?id=50911","current_through":"Includes enactments through the 2026 Regular Session","vintage":"09/05/2026","retrieved_at":"2026-09-05T20:48:56Z","sha256":"0d706cb9969099624971a820c90b689c95d76217b4c2ab361267c60022eb7031","source_id":"us-ky","stale":false,"prev":"us-ky/krs-38.490","next":"us-ky/krs-38.500"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
