{"data":{"id":"us-ky/krs-381.9149","jurisdiction":"us-ky","citation":"KRS 381.9149","heading":"Subdivision of units.","body":"(1) If the declaration expressly so permits, a unit may be subdivided into two (2) or\nmore units. Subject to the provisions of the declaration and other provisions of law,\nupon application of a unit owner to subdivide a unit, the association shall prepare,\nexecute, and record an amendment to the declaration, including the plats and plans,\nsubdividing that unit.\n(2) The amendment to the declaration shall be executed by the owner of the unit to be\nsubdivided, assign an identifying number to each unit created, and  reallocate the\nallocated interests formerly allocated to the subdivided unit to the new units in any\nreasonable manner prescribed by the owner of the subdivided unit.\n(3) All costs associated with the preparation and recording of the documents, plats, and\nplans required by subsection (1) of this section shall be paid by the owner of the\nunit being subdivided.","path":["KRS Chapter 381"],"source_url":"https://apps.legislature.ky.gov/law/statutes/statute.aspx?id=36841","current_through":"Includes enactments through the 2026 Regular Session","vintage":"09/05/2026","retrieved_at":"2026-09-05T20:59:11Z","sha256":"27fff3fc913c526577baff0d90e17f71ba6a14ef99c563ac3c093961838fb619","source_id":"us-ky","stale":false,"prev":"us-ky/krs-381.9147","next":"us-ky/krs-381.9151"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
