{"data":{"id":"us-ky/krs-382.300","jurisdiction":"us-ky","citation":"KRS 382.300","heading":"Duty of clerk concerning instruments lodged for record -- Reproduction of","body":"clerk's signature on photographic copy.\n(1) Every county clerk shall record all deeds, mortgages and powers of attorney that are\nlodged for record, properly certified, or that are acknowledged or proved before him\nas required by law. He shall also record the certificates endorsed on such\ninstrument, and shall certify the time when the instrument was lodged in his office\nfor record. If acknowledged or proved before him, he shall a lso certify the time of\nacknowledgment or proof, and by whom proved, and that the instrument and the\ncertificate thereon have been duly recorded in his office.\n(2) Whenever, either heretofore or hereafter, any recordable instrument of writing\nbearing the certificate of the clerk showing its recording shall have been copied of\nrecord by any photographic, photocopying, or other mechanical process for\nreproducing on the record the instrument and certificate, the clerk's signature, by\neither the clerk or his d eputy, so reproduced with such certificate shall have the\nsame effect as if subscribed by the clerk on the record.","path":["KRS Chapter 382"],"source_url":"https://apps.legislature.ky.gov/law/statutes/statute.aspx?id=35614","current_through":"Includes enactments through the 2026 Regular Session","vintage":"09/05/2026","retrieved_at":"2026-09-05T20:59:12Z","sha256":"e8541ecc861cbef16316c0061727280c490b1c88d17f07b66cfbcad26a607b31","source_id":"us-ky","stale":false,"prev":"us-ky/krs-382.297","next":"us-ky/krs-382.310"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
