{"data":{"id":"us-ky/krs-383.560","jurisdiction":"us-ky","citation":"KRS 383.560","heading":"Notice.","body":"(1) A person has notice of a fact if:\n(a) He has actual knowledge of it;\n(b) He has received a notice or notification of it; or\n(c) From all the facts and circumstances known to him at the time in question he\nhas reason to know that it exists.\n(2) A person knows or has knowledge of a fact if he has actual knowledge of it.\n(3) A person notifies or gives a notice or notification to another person by taking steps\nreasonably calculated to inform the other in ordinary course whether or not the other\nactually comes to know of it. A person receives a notice or notification when:\n(a) It comes to his attention; or\n(b) In the case of the landlord, it is delivered in writing at the place of business of\nthe landlord through which the rental agreement was made or at any place\nheld out by him as the place for rec eipt of the communications, or mailed by\ncertified mail to him at his place of business or at any place held out by him as\nthe place for receipt of any communication;\n(c) In the case of the tenant, it is delivered in hand to the tenant or mailed by\nregistered or certified mail to him at the place held out by him as the place for\nreceipt of the communication, or in the absence of such designation, to his last\nknown place of residence.\n(4) Notice, knowledge, or a notice or notification received by an organiza tion is\neffective for a particular transaction from the time it is brought to the attention of\nthe individual conducting that transaction, and in any event from the time it would\nhave been brought to his attention if the organization had exercised reasonab le\ndiligence.","path":["KRS Chapter 383"],"source_url":"https://apps.legislature.ky.gov/law/statutes/statute.aspx?id=35729","current_through":"Includes enactments through the 2026 Regular Session","vintage":"09/05/2026","retrieved_at":"2026-09-05T20:59:14Z","sha256":"e842f59f36540e39c0ba8942ecef71f8c8189eeb867d9834b2142655be0fe791","source_id":"us-ky","stale":false,"prev":"us-ky/krs-383.555","next":"us-ky/krs-383.565"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
