{"data":{"id":"us-ky/krs-384.050","jurisdiction":"us-ky","citation":"KRS 384.050","heading":"Appointment of conservator for property of member of Armed Forces or","body":"Merchant Seaman.\nWhenever a person (hereinafter referred to as an absentee) serving in or with the Armed\nForces of the United States, or serving as a merchant seaman, has been report ed or listed\nas missing, or missing in action, or interned in a neutral country, or beleaguered,\nbesieged, or captured by an enemy, and such person has an interest in any form of\nproperty in this state or is a legal resident of this state and has not provi ded an adequate\npower of attorney authorizing another to act in his behalf in regard to such property or\ninterests, the District Court of the county of such absentee's legal domicile or of the\ncounty where such property is situated, upon petition alleging the foregoing facts and\nshowing the necessity for providing care of the property of such absentee, made by any\nperson who would have an interest in the property of the absentee were such absentee\ndeceased, or on the court's own motion, after notice to, or on receipt of proper waivers\nfrom, the heirs and next of kin of the absentee as provided by law for the administration\nof an estate, and upon good cause being shown, may, after finding the facts to be as\naforesaid, appoint a conservator to take charge of t he absentee's estate, under the\nsupervision and subject to the further orders of the court.","path":["KRS Chapter 384"],"source_url":"https://apps.legislature.ky.gov/law/statutes/statute.aspx?id=35765","current_through":"Includes enactments through the 2026 Regular Session","vintage":"09/05/2026","retrieved_at":"2026-09-05T20:59:14Z","sha256":"e646b5e8efa798f8db68d61687f81d5abe16b69a5de08b9442dee93a81105bbd","source_id":"us-ky","stale":false,"prev":"us-ky/krs-384.040","next":"us-ky/krs-384.060"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
