{"data":{"id":"us-ky/krs-385.022","jurisdiction":"us-ky","citation":"KRS 385.022","heading":"Scope and jurisdiction.","body":"(1) KRS 385.012 to 385.222 apply to a transfer that refers to KRS 385.032 to 385.222\nin the designation under KRS 385.092(1) by which the transfer is made if at the\ntime of the transfer, the transferor, the minor, or the custodian is a resident of this\nstate or the custodial property is located in this state.  The custodianship so created\nremains subject to KRS 385.032 to 385.222 despite a subsequent change in\nresidence of a transferor, the minor, or the custodian, or the removal of custodial\nproperty from this state.\n(2) A person designated as custodian under KRS 385.032 to 385.222 is subject to\npersonal jurisdiction in this state with respect to any matter relating to the\ncustodianship.\n(3) A transfer that purports to be made and which is valid under the Unifo rm Transfers\nto Minors Act, the Uniform Gifts to Minors Act, or a substantially similar act, of\nanother state is governed by the law of the designated state and may be executed\nand is enforceable in this state if at the time of the transfer, the transferor, the minor,\nor the custodian is a resident of the designated state or the custodial property is\nlocated in the designated state.","path":["KRS Chapter 385"],"source_url":"https://apps.legislature.ky.gov/law/statutes/statute.aspx?id=35775","current_through":"Includes enactments through the 2026 Regular Session","vintage":"09/05/2026","retrieved_at":"2026-09-05T20:59:14Z","sha256":"9f14b7c18308f0280d0757ca3281ca7401ce78751a3f3f1823dff3b315f710ee","source_id":"us-ky","stale":false,"prev":"us-ky/krs-385.021","next":"us-ky/krs-385.030"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
