{"data":{"id":"us-ky/krs-385.072","jurisdiction":"us-ky","citation":"KRS 385.072","heading":"Transfer by obligor.","body":"(1) Subject to subsections (2) and (3) of this section, a person not subject to KRS\n385.052 or 385.062 who holds property of or owes a liquidated debt to a minor not\nhaving a conservator may make an irrevocable transfer to a custodian for the benefit\nof the minor pursuant to KRS 385.092.\n(2) If a person having the right to do so under KRS 385.032 has nominated a custodian\nunder that section to receive the custodial property, the transfer must be made to\nthat person.\n(3) If no custodian has been nominated under KRS 385.032, or all persons so\nnominated as custodian die before the transfer or are unable, decline, or are\nineligible to serve, a transfer under this section may be made to an adult member of\nthe minor's family or to a trust company unless the property e xceeds ten thousand\ndollars ($10,000) in value.","path":["KRS Chapter 385"],"source_url":"https://apps.legislature.ky.gov/law/statutes/statute.aspx?id=35790","current_through":"Includes enactments through the 2026 Regular Session","vintage":"09/05/2026","retrieved_at":"2026-09-05T20:59:15Z","sha256":"4fcff94c8eea19acd8082c978e53948cae9c4e71d51ac8d652ee54aeac7c8062","source_id":"us-ky","stale":false,"prev":"us-ky/krs-385.071","next":"us-ky/krs-385.080"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
