{"data":{"id":"us-ky/krs-385.142","jurisdiction":"us-ky","citation":"KRS 385.142","heading":"Use of custodial property.","body":"(1) A custodian may deliver or pay to the minor or expend for the minor's benefit so\nmuch of the custodial property as the custodian considers advisable for the use and\nbenefit of the minor, without court order and without regard to:\n(a) The duty or ability of  the custodian personally or of any other person to\nsupport the minor; or\n(b) Any other income or property of the minor which may be applicable or\navailable for that purpose.\n(2) On petition of an interested person or the minor if the minor has attained th e age of\nfourteen (14) years, the court may order the custodian to deliver or pay to the minor\nor expend for the minor's benefit so much of the custodial property as the court\nconsiders advisable for the use and benefit of the minor.\n(3) A delivery, paymen t, or expenditure under this section is in addition to, not in\nsubstitution for, and does not affect any obligation of a person to support the minor.","path":["KRS Chapter 385"],"source_url":"https://apps.legislature.ky.gov/law/statutes/statute.aspx?id=35807","current_through":"Includes enactments through the 2026 Regular Session","vintage":"09/05/2026","retrieved_at":"2026-09-05T20:59:15Z","sha256":"f948a17976c7937ccbac97bc60a14ec35f8962bd8c4ddf8f48cedfaa34713ef5","source_id":"us-ky","stale":false,"prev":"us-ky/krs-385.140","next":"us-ky/krs-385.150"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
