{"data":{"id":"us-ky/krs-386.620","jurisdiction":"us-ky","citation":"KRS 386.620","heading":"Definitions for KRS 386.620 to 386.624.","body":"As used in KRS 386.620 to 386.624:\n(1) \"Community property\" means property owned by a community property trust during\nthe marriage of the settlor spouses;\n(2) \"Community property trust\" means an express trust that complies with the\nrequirements of KRS 386.622;\n(3) \"Decree\" means a judgment or other order of a court;\n(4) \"Dissolution\" means either:\n(a) Termination of a marriage by a decree of dissolution, divorce, annulment, or\ndeclaration of invalidity; or\n(b) Entry of a decree of legal separation;\n(5) \"During marriage\" means a period that begins at marriage and ends at dissolution or\nthe death of a spouse;\n(6) \"Qualified trustee\" means either:\n(a) A natural person who is a resident of this state; or\n(b) A bank or trust company authorized to act as a trustee within the state; and\n(7) \"Settlor spouses\" means a married couple that establishes a community property\ntrust.","path":["KRS Chapter 386"],"source_url":"https://apps.legislature.ky.gov/law/statutes/statute.aspx?id=49988","current_through":"Includes enactments through the 2026 Regular Session","vintage":"09/05/2026","retrieved_at":"2026-09-05T20:59:17Z","sha256":"d655dff34b5118993916d248bc3ee83bbb2bf54fe0d313d54f0af03638fac145","source_id":"us-ky","stale":false,"prev":"us-ky/krs-386.619","next":"us-ky/krs-386.622"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
