{"data":{"id":"us-ky/krs-386b.8-170","jurisdiction":"us-ky","citation":"KRS 386B.8-170","heading":"Distribution upon termination.","body":"(1) Upon termination or partial termination of a trust, the trustee may send to the\nbeneficiaries a proposal for distribution. The right of any beneficiary to object to the\nproposed distribution terminates if the beneficiary does not notify the trustee of an\nobjection within thirty (30) days after the proposal was sent, but only if the proposal\ninformed the beneficiary of the right to object and of the time allowed for objection.\n(2) Upon the occurrence of an event terminating or partially terminating a trust, the\ntrustee shall proceed expeditiously to distribute the trust property to the persons\nentitled to it, subject to the right of the trustee to retain a reasonable reserve for the\npayment of debts, expenses, and taxes.\n(3) A release by a beneficiary of a tr ustee from liability for breach of trust is invalid to\nthe extent:\n(a) It was induced by improper conduct of the trustee; or\n(b) The beneficiary, at the time of the release, did not know of the beneficiary's\nrights or of the material facts relating to the breach.","path":[],"source_url":"https://apps.legislature.ky.gov/law/statutes/statute.aspx?id=43139","current_through":"Includes enactments through the 2026 Regular Session","vintage":"09/05/2026","retrieved_at":"2026-09-05T20:59:19Z","sha256":"ec39f15eed525f6282c73fa4b6cc97325a54e531605606100bf12a69003656bb","source_id":"us-ky","stale":false,"prev":"us-ky/krs-386b.8-160","next":"us-ky/krs-386b.8-180"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
