{"data":{"id":"us-ky/krs-387.090","jurisdiction":"us-ky","citation":"KRS 387.090","heading":"Removal of guardian, limited guardian or conservator.","body":"(1) The District Court shall remove a guardian, limited guardian, or conservator if:\n(a) The guardian, limited guardian, or conservator becomes insane, moves out of\nthe Commonwealth, becomes incapable of discharging the duties of the\nappointment, or fails for any reason to discharge the duties of the\nappointment; or\n(b) The District Court deems the removal of the guardian, limited guardian, or\nconservator to be in the best interest of the ward.\n(2) The District Court may permit a guardian, limited guardian, or conservator to resign\nif the guardian, limited guardian, or conservator first files a final settlement and\ndelivers the ward's estate as directed by the District Court.\n(3) When a guardian, limited guardian, or conservator resigns or is removed from office\nby the District Court, the District Court shall appoint a new person or entity to serve\nas the ward's guardian, limited guardian, or conservator.\n(4) The District Court may remove a guardian, limited guardian, or conservator for\nfailing to make an account or inventory as required by law, or as may be required by\nthe District Court, or for failing to give additional surety when required.","path":["KRS Chapter 387"],"source_url":"https://apps.legislature.ky.gov/law/statutes/statute.aspx?id=35998","current_through":"Includes enactments through the 2026 Regular Session","vintage":"09/05/2026","retrieved_at":"2026-09-05T20:59:20Z","sha256":"2843f49c6fe169e0c7565ebf85ec26b2348844652430b87424a88c12b844a128","source_id":"us-ky","stale":false,"prev":"us-ky/krs-387.080","next":"us-ky/krs-387.100"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
