{"data":{"id":"us-ky/krs-387.270","jurisdiction":"us-ky","citation":"KRS 387.270","heading":"Interest charged guardians or conservators.","body":"(1) If from any source a balance is owing by a guardian or conservator at the end of any\nyear, counting from the time of appointment of the guardian or conservator, which\nshould have been invested for the benefit of the ward in reasonable time but which\nremains in the guardian's or conservator's hands, the guardian or conservator shall\nbe charged with the legal rate of interest compounded annually from the end of the\nyear in which the balance arose.\n(2) However, nothing in this section shall prohibit or prevent  a guardian or conservator\nfrom accounting for or being chargeable with sums in excess of the rates herein\nfixed realized upon any investment of trust funds made by the guardian or\nconservator.","path":["KRS Chapter 387"],"source_url":"https://apps.legislature.ky.gov/law/statutes/statute.aspx?id=36023","current_through":"Includes enactments through the 2026 Regular Session","vintage":"09/05/2026","retrieved_at":"2026-09-05T20:59:20Z","sha256":"347ab9ee32360f91416f15fc332e35ac509fb0841eb63db5c3e2490f36cfa199","source_id":"us-ky","stale":false,"prev":"us-ky/krs-387.260","next":"us-ky/krs-387.278"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
