{"data":{"id":"us-ky/krs-387.630","jurisdiction":"us-ky","citation":"KRS 387.630","heading":"Committee to assume duties of guardian -- Powers -- Nullification of","body":"adjudication of incompetency.\n(1) Any person appointed committee for an incompetent person prior to July 1, 1982,\nshall assume the duties of a guardian and shall be subject to all of  the provisions of\nKRS 387.500 to 387.770 pertaining to guardians, including all reporting\nrequirements. The committee shall, within one (1) year from July 1, 1982, petition\nfor modification of the original order if a less restrictive guardianship or\nconservatorship would be more appropriate.\n(2) In all instances where an adjudication of incompetency was entered prior to July 1,\n1982, and no committee has been appointed or is serving on that date, the\nadjudication of incompetency shall be considered null an d void if no guardian or\nconservator is appointed within one (1) year of July 1, 1982.","path":["KRS Chapter 387"],"source_url":"https://apps.legislature.ky.gov/law/statutes/statute.aspx?id=36053","current_through":"Includes enactments through the 2026 Regular Session","vintage":"09/05/2026","retrieved_at":"2026-09-05T20:59:21Z","sha256":"a4bad58e59000ad84aea1a5704b03c7df66c531d123d7e4403eec7b3f45e702a","source_id":"us-ky","stale":false,"prev":"us-ky/krs-387.620","next":"us-ky/krs-387.640"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
