{"data":{"id":"us-ky/krs-387.690","jurisdiction":"us-ky","citation":"KRS 387.690","heading":"Specific duties of limited conservator or conservator.","body":"(1) A limited conservator or conservator shall expend or distribute, or authorize the\nexpenditure or distribution of, or assist in the expenditure or distribution of, the\nprincipal or income from the financial resources placed under his supervision and\ncontrol to assure that:\n(a) The essential requirements for the physical health or safety of the ward are\nmet;\n(b) The rights of the ward are protected;\n(c) The financial resources of the ward which are subject to the conservatorship\nare prudently managed;\n(d) The ward has the opportunity to develop or regain the capacity to perform the\nfunctions listed in paragraphs (a), (b), and (c) of subsection (2) of KRS\n387.680; and\n(e) The limited guardian or guardian for the ward, if any, is able to carry out the\nduties and powers assigned to him by the court.\n(2) In performing his duties, the limited conservator or conservator shall consider:\n(a) The size of the financial resources under the limited conservator's or\nconservator's supervision or control;\n(b) The probable duration of the conservatorship;\n(c) The likelihood that the ward may be able to manage his financial resources in\nthe future;\n(d) The accustomed standard of living of the ward;\n(e) Other funds or resources used for the support of the ward which have not been\nplaced under the control or supervision of the limited conservator or\nconservator; and\n(f) The requests of the ward and the ward's limited guardian or guardian, if any.\n(3) In addition to the duties and powers listed in subsection (1) of this  section, the court\nmay assign to a limited conservator any of the duties and powers listed in KRS\n387.700 which the partially disabled person lacks the ability to perform.","path":["KRS Chapter 387"],"source_url":"https://apps.legislature.ky.gov/law/statutes/statute.aspx?id=36059","current_through":"Includes enactments through the 2026 Regular Session","vintage":"09/05/2026","retrieved_at":"2026-09-05T20:59:21Z","sha256":"2c5f02caf02847576f12c52e35850851696b3afea93b909e2bb4fea589f9db5a","source_id":"us-ky","stale":false,"prev":"us-ky/krs-387.680","next":"us-ky/krs-387.700"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
