{"data":{"id":"us-ky/krs-393a.250","jurisdiction":"us-ky","citation":"KRS 393A.250","heading":"Retention of records by holder.","body":"A holder required to file a report under KRS 393A.220 shall retain records for ten (10)\nyears after the later of the date the report was filed or the last date a timely report was due\nto be filed, unless a shorter period shall be provided by rule of the ad ministrator. The\nholder may satisfy the requirement to retain records under this section through an agent.\nThe records shall contain:\n(1) The information required to be included in the report;\n(2) The date, place, and nature of the circumstances that gave rise to the property right;\n(3) The amount or value of the property;\n(4) The last address of the apparent owner, if known to the holder; and\n(5) If the holder sells, issues, or provides to others for sale or issue in this state\ntraveler's checks, money ord ers, or similar instruments, other than third -party bank\nchecks, on which the holder is directly liable, a record of the instruments while they\nremain outstanding indicating the state and date of issue.","path":["KRS Chapter 393A"],"source_url":"https://apps.legislature.ky.gov/law/statutes/statute.aspx?id=48122","current_through":"Includes enactments through the 2026 Regular Session","vintage":"09/05/2026","retrieved_at":"2026-09-05T20:59:24Z","sha256":"e2c5e21f2dd4bca9245ffe442d77a75c31d2f8d545abe274ace8b7b307dfa290","source_id":"us-ky","stale":false,"prev":"us-ky/krs-393a.240","next":"us-ky/krs-393a.260"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
