{"data":{"id":"us-ky/krs-393a.270","jurisdiction":"us-ky","citation":"KRS 393A.270","heading":"Notice to apparent owner by holder.","body":"(1) Subject to subsection (2) of this section, the holder of property presumed abandoned\nshall send to the apparent owner notice by first -class United States mail that\ncomplies with KRS 393A.280 in a format acceptable to the administrator not more\nthan one hun dred eighty (180) days nor less than sixty (60) days before filing the\nreport under KRS 393A.220 if:\n(a) The holder has in its records an address for the apparent owner which the\nholder's records do not disclose to be invalid and is sufficient to direct th e\ndelivery of first-class United States mail to the apparent owner; and\n(b) The value of the property is fifty dollars ($50) or more.\n(2) If an apparent owner has consented to receive electronic -mail delivery from the\nholder, the holder shall send the noti ce described in subsection (1) of this section\nboth by first -class United States mail to the apparent owner's last -known mailing\naddress and by electronic mail, unless the holder believes that the apparent owner's\nelectronic-mail address is invalid.","path":["KRS Chapter 393A"],"source_url":"https://apps.legislature.ky.gov/law/statutes/statute.aspx?id=48124","current_through":"Includes enactments through the 2026 Regular Session","vintage":"09/05/2026","retrieved_at":"2026-09-05T20:59:24Z","sha256":"7e26fda4fa67f12cbfb05b237ca2b1694ba6c30d82397065bb0c8d53f09f1d4b","source_id":"us-ky","stale":false,"prev":"us-ky/krs-393a.260","next":"us-ky/krs-393a.280"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
