{"data":{"id":"us-ky/krs-393a.510","jurisdiction":"us-ky","citation":"KRS 393A.510","heading":"Claim for property by person claiming to be owner.","body":"(1) A person claiming to be the owner of property held under this chapter by the\nadministrator may file a claim for the property on a form prescribed by the\nadministrator. The claimant shall verify the claim as to its completeness and\naccuracy.\n(2) The adminis trator may permit persons claiming to be the owner of property to\nsubmit claims in electronic format.\n(3) The administrator may waive the requirement in subsection (1) of this section and\nmay pay or deliver property directly to a person if:\n(a) The person receiving the property or payment is shown to be the apparent\nowner included on a report filed under KRS 393A.220;\n(b) The administrator reasonably believes the person is entitled to receive the\nproperty or payment; and\n(c) The property has a value of less than two hundred fifty dollars ($250).","path":["KRS Chapter 393A"],"source_url":"https://apps.legislature.ky.gov/law/statutes/statute.aspx?id=48148","current_through":"Includes enactments through the 2026 Regular Session","vintage":"09/05/2026","retrieved_at":"2026-09-05T20:59:25Z","sha256":"c35a4c0fbf625e89313a9b44fff02cc440b57f5f605e9be5008116ad61a05617","source_id":"us-ky","stale":false,"prev":"us-ky/krs-393a.500","next":"us-ky/krs-393a.520"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
