{"data":{"id":"us-ky/krs-393a.520","jurisdiction":"us-ky","citation":"KRS 393A.520","heading":"When administrator must honor claim for property.","body":"(1) The administrator shall pay or deliver property to a claimant under KRS\n393A.510(1) if the administrator receives evidence sufficient to establish to the\nsatisfaction of the administrator that the claimant is the owner of the property.\n(2) Not later than n inety (90) days after a claim is filed under KRS 393A.510(1), the\nadministrator shall allow or deny the claim and give the claimant notice in a record\nof the decision.\n(3) If the claim is denied under subsection (2) of this section:\n(a) The administrator s hall inform the claimant of the reason for the denial and\nspecify what additional evidence, if any, is required for the claim to be\nallowed;\n(b) The claimant may file an amended claim with the administrator or request an\nadministrative hearing under KRS 393A.540; and\n(c) The administrator shall consider an amended claim filed under paragraph (b)\nof this subsection as an initial claim.\n(4) If the administrator does not take action on a claim during the ninety (90) day period\nfollowing the filing of a claim u nder KRS 393A.510(1), the claim shall be deemed\ndenied.","path":["KRS Chapter 393A"],"source_url":"https://apps.legislature.ky.gov/law/statutes/statute.aspx?id=48149","current_through":"Includes enactments through the 2026 Regular Session","vintage":"09/05/2026","retrieved_at":"2026-09-05T20:59:25Z","sha256":"89a2b6386ff2f44ce8d4246ef0037c4873c84344d55aa66dcdf863770803cffc","source_id":"us-ky","stale":false,"prev":"us-ky/krs-393a.510","next":"us-ky/krs-393a.530"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
