{"data":{"id":"us-ky/krs-393a.580","jurisdiction":"us-ky","citation":"KRS 393A.580","heading":"Records obtained in examination.","body":"Records obtained and records, including work papers, compiled by the administrator in\nthe course of conducting an examination under KRS 393A.560:\n(1) Shall be subject to the confidentiality and security provisions of KRS 393A.770 to\n393A.830 and are not public records;\n(2) May be used by the administrator in an action to collect property or otherwise\nenforce this chapter;\n(3) May be used in a joint examination conducted with another state, the United States,\na foreign country or subordinate unit of a foreig n country, or any other\ngovernmental entity if the governmental entity conducting the examination is\nlegally bound to maintain the confidentiality and security of information obtained\nfrom a person subject to examination in a manner substantially equivalen t to KRS\n393A.770 to 393A.830;\n(4) Shall be disclosed, on request, to the person that administers the unclaimed property\nlaw of another state for that state's use in circumstances equivalent to circumstances\ndescribed in KRS 393A.550 to 393A.650, if the ot her state is required to maintain\nthe confidentiality and security of information obtained in a manner substantially\nequivalent to KRS 393A.770 to 393A.830;\n(5) Shall be produced by the administrator under an administrative or judicial subpoena\nor administrative or court order; and\n(6) Shall be produced by the administrator on request of the person subject to the\nexamination in an administrative or judicial proceeding relating to the property.","path":["KRS Chapter 393A"],"source_url":"https://apps.legislature.ky.gov/law/statutes/statute.aspx?id=48155","current_through":"Includes enactments through the 2026 Regular Session","vintage":"09/05/2026","retrieved_at":"2026-09-05T20:59:25Z","sha256":"cdab067586100eaf4cb7b7a424bdf3954efe72037c3d49ff0f7890f84a9cd87c","source_id":"us-ky","stale":false,"prev":"us-ky/krs-393a.570","next":"us-ky/krs-393a.590"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
