{"data":{"id":"us-ky/krs-393a.770","jurisdiction":"us-ky","citation":"KRS 393A.770","heading":"Definitions -- Applicability.","body":"(1) As used in KRS 393A.770 to 393A.830, \"personal information\" means:\n(a) Information that identifies or reasonably can be used to identify an individual,\nsuch as first and last name in combination with the individual's:\n1. Social Security number or other government-issued number or identifier;\n2. Date of birth;\n3. Home or physical address;\n4. Electronic-mail address or other online contact information or Internet\nprovider address;\n5. Financial account number or credit or debit card number;\n6. Biometric data, health or medical data, or insurance information; or\n7. Passwords or other credentials that permit access to an online or other\naccount;\n(b) Personally identifiable financial or insurance information, including nonpublic\npersonal information defined by applicable federal law; and\n(c) Any combination of data that, if accessed, disclosed, modified, or destroyed\nwithout authorization of the owner of the data or if lost or misused, would\nrequire notice or reporting under KRS 365.720 to 365.730 and federal priva cy\nand data security law, whether or not the administrator or the administrator's\nagent is subject to the law.\n(2) Any provision of KRS 393A.770 to 393A.830 that applies to the administrator or\nthe administrator's records applies to an administrator's agent or the agent's records.","path":["KRS Chapter 393A"],"source_url":"https://apps.legislature.ky.gov/law/statutes/statute.aspx?id=48174","current_through":"Includes enactments through the 2026 Regular Session","vintage":"09/05/2026","retrieved_at":"2026-09-05T20:59:25Z","sha256":"5904f3e4321875905ad668e618f02946c562d685407aa00c2000cad3ea8a7188","source_id":"us-ky","stale":false,"prev":"us-ky/krs-393a.760","next":"us-ky/krs-393a.780"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
