{"data":{"id":"us-ky/krs-394.700","jurisdiction":"us-ky","citation":"KRS 394.700","heading":"Definitions for KRS 394.700 to 394.715.","body":"As used in KRS 394.700 to 394.715:\n(1) \"Electronic\" means relating to technology having electrical, digital, magnetic,\nwireless, optical, electromagnetic, or similar capabilities;\n(2) \"Electronic presence\" means the relationship of two (2) or more individuals in\ndifferent locations communicatin g in real time to the same extent as if the\nindividuals were physically present in the same location;\n(3) \"Electronic will\" means a will executed electronically in compliance with the\nrequirements of KRS 394.706;\n(4) \"Record\" means information that is inscribed on a tangible medium or that is stored\nin an electronic or other medium and is retrievable in perceivable form;\n(5) \"Sign\" means, with present intent to authenticate or adopt a record:\n(a) To execute or adopt a tangible symbol; or\n(b) To affix to or logically associate with the record an electronic symbol or\nprocess;\n(6) \"State\" has the same meaning as in KRS 386B.1-010; and\n(7) \"Will\" has the same meaning as in KRS 394.010.","path":["KRS Chapter 394"],"source_url":"https://apps.legislature.ky.gov/law/statutes/statute.aspx?id=57696","current_through":"Includes enactments through the 2026 Regular Session","vintage":"09/05/2026","retrieved_at":"2026-09-05T20:59:26Z","sha256":"153c1b431e4cea4f570fbc1deb28a056022d9e2aa5232f2b9d2beac914356748","source_id":"us-ky","stale":false,"prev":"us-ky/krs-394.680","next":"us-ky/krs-394.702"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
