{"data":{"id":"us-ky/krs-394.710","jurisdiction":"us-ky","citation":"KRS 394.710","heading":"Attestation and self-proving upon execution.","body":"(1) An electronic will may be simultaneously executed, attested, and made self -proving\nby acknowledgment of the testator and affidavits of witnesses.\n(2) The acknowledgment and affidavits under subsection (1) of this section shall be:\n(a) Made before a notary public authorized to administer oaths under the law of\nthe state in which execution occurs or, if fewer than two (2) attesting\nwitnesses are physically present in the same location as the testator at the time\nof signing under KRS 394.706(1)(b), before a no tary public authorized under\nKRS 423.455;\n(b) Evidenced by the notary public's certificate under official seal affixed to or\nlogically associated with the electronic will; and\n(c) In a form substantially similar to KRS 394.225(1) and (2).\n(3) A signature p hysically or electronically affixed to an affidavit that is affixed to or\nlogically associated with an electronic will under KRS 394.700 to 394.715 is\ndeemed a signature of the electronic will under KRS 394.706(1).","path":["KRS Chapter 394"],"source_url":"https://apps.legislature.ky.gov/law/statutes/statute.aspx?id=57701","current_through":"Includes enactments through the 2026 Regular Session","vintage":"09/05/2026","retrieved_at":"2026-09-05T20:59:26Z","sha256":"a4375da462fd0f6618dea77997f5975eaec7111aefab6da06d801c446ec83621","source_id":"us-ky","stale":false,"prev":"us-ky/krs-394.708","next":"us-ky/krs-394.712"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
