{"data":{"id":"us-ky/krs-395.140","jurisdiction":"us-ky","citation":"KRS 395.140","heading":"Delivery of surety bond to court -- Persons not to be surety on --","body":"Recording.\n(1) All fiduciaries required to execute a surety bond shall deliver to the clerk of the\ncourt of the county in which he or she is appointed a surety bond payable to  and\nwith the Commonwealth, subscribed to by the principal and sureties in the presence\nof a notary, in the amount, and with sufficient sureties, as may be approved by the\ncourt in its order of appointment.\n(2) The District Court shall not accept as surety , in any surety bond of a personal\nrepresentative, any master or other commissioner whose duty is to settle the\naccounts of personal representatives, or any judge or clerk of a District Court or\npracticing attorney of that court.\n(3) The surety bond shall be filed by the clerk in his or her office in a record\nmaintained for that purpose.","path":["KRS Chapter 395"],"source_url":"https://apps.legislature.ky.gov/law/statutes/statute.aspx?id=57676","current_through":"Includes enactments through the 2026 Regular Session","vintage":"09/05/2026","retrieved_at":"2026-09-05T20:59:26Z","sha256":"a907e7fb2b0922b9528ff8a6945051e160a7de89bfdd4f9245b99b87fbcb7034","source_id":"us-ky","stale":false,"prev":"us-ky/krs-395.130","next":"us-ky/krs-395.145"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
