{"data":{"id":"us-ky/krs-395.380","jurisdiction":"us-ky","citation":"KRS 395.380","heading":"Public administrator and guardian.","body":"(1) The District Court of each county shall appoint a discreet, qualified person to act as\nadministrator of decedents' estates of which there is no personal representative, and\nas guardian of orphans who have no guardian.\n(2) The public administrator or guardian appointed under this section:\n(a) Shall serve at the discretion of the District Court;\n(b) Shall be sworn and execute bond with good surety to the state for the faithful\ndischarge of his or her duties; and\n(c) Upon being duly sworn and executing surety bond, shall be accepted by the\ncourt in every estate in which the public administrator is appointed without\nthe necessity of additional surety.","path":["KRS Chapter 395"],"source_url":"https://apps.legislature.ky.gov/law/statutes/statute.aspx?id=57680","current_through":"Includes enactments through the 2026 Regular Session","vintage":"09/05/2026","retrieved_at":"2026-09-05T20:59:27Z","sha256":"e7270242bd250fdcd5dac88f5541af7a44d74e1619f091477398f23feeb11949","source_id":"us-ky","stale":false,"prev":"us-ky/krs-395.370","next":"us-ky/krs-395.390"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
