{"data":{"id":"us-ky/krs-396.115","jurisdiction":"us-ky","citation":"KRS 396.115","heading":"Payment of contingent, unliquidated or future claims.","body":"(1) If a claim which will mature at a future time, or a contingent or unliquidated claim,\nmatures or becomes certain before the distribution of the estate, and if the claim has\nbeen allowed, it shall be paid in the same manner as matured and absolute claims of\nthe same class.\n(2) In other cases the personal representative or, on petition of the personal\nrepresentative or the claimant in a special proceeding for the purpose, the court may\nprovide for payment as follows:\n(a) If the claimant consents, he may be pa id the present or agreed value of the\nclaim, taking any uncertainty into account;\n(b) Arrangement for future payment, or possible payment, on the happening of the\ncontingency or on liquidation may be made by creating a trust, giving a\nmortgage, obtaining a bond or security from a distributee, or otherwise.","path":["KRS Chapter 396"],"source_url":"https://apps.legislature.ky.gov/law/statutes/statute.aspx?id=36426","current_through":"Includes enactments through the 2026 Regular Session","vintage":"09/05/2026","retrieved_at":"2026-09-05T20:59:28Z","sha256":"54aad0cdbf7ddbecd91d44b5efe832dc46d16a1137b1e2f2f07332533591901d","source_id":"us-ky","stale":false,"prev":"us-ky/krs-396.110","next":"us-ky/krs-396.120"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
