{"data":{"id":"us-ky/krs-39a.140","jurisdiction":"us-ky","citation":"KRS 39A.140","heading":"Procedure for payment of compensation.","body":"(1) If the owner of property seized, taken, or condemned accepts as adequate the\ncompensation fixed by the Governor, the owner shall file a statement of the amount\nof compensation from the Governor with the Finance and Administration Cabinet,\nwhich shall draw a warrant on the State Treasurer for the amount of the\ncompensation in favor of the person entitled to payment.\n(2) If the compensation is determined by award of the Kentucky Board of Claims or\njudgment of a court, as provided in KRS 39A.110, 39A.120, and 39A.130, a\ncertified copy of the award or judgment shall be filed with the Finance and\nAdministration Cabinet which shall draw a warrant on the State Treasurer for the\namount of the award or judgment.\n(3) The State Treasurer shall pay the warrants out of a ny money in the Treasury not\notherwise appropriated.","path":["KRS Chapter 39A"],"source_url":"https://apps.legislature.ky.gov/law/statutes/statute.aspx?id=51448","current_through":"Includes enactments through the 2026 Regular Session","vintage":"09/05/2026","retrieved_at":"2026-09-05T20:48:58Z","sha256":"27e3305bccb0f2d31bb15e39b5fb1e642efb9767ceaf02a1946c832743fa9ef8","source_id":"us-ky","stale":false,"prev":"us-ky/krs-39a.130","next":"us-ky/krs-39a.150"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
