{"data":{"id":"us-ky/krs-39a.150","jurisdiction":"us-ky","citation":"KRS 39A.150","heading":"Traffic control plans -- Executive orders.","body":"(1) The Kentucky Emergency Operations Plan and local emergency operations plans\nshall include measures for, and the Governor for the state or portion thereof, the\ncounty judge/executive for a county other than an urban -county, or a portion\nthereof, and the may or for a city or an urban -county or portion thereof, may issue\nwritten executive orders providing for:\n(a) The control of traffic in order to provide for rapid and safe movement in\nevacuation over public highways and streets during any disaster or emergency;\n(b) The control and alteration of speed limits and traffic regulations on public\nhighways during any disaster or emergency; and\n(c) The prohibition or limitation of use of motor vehicles on public highways\nduring any disaster or emergency.\n(2) The Gover nor may extend the provisions of subsection (1) of this section to the\npublic thoroughfares of any political subdivision of the Commonwealth.\n(3) The Governor may order agencies of state government and political subdivisions of\nthe Commonwealth to take steps necessary to effectuate plans made or orders issued\npursuant to this section.\n(4) During a declared emergency or disaster, the Governor, county judge/executive, or\nmayor, may, for their respective jurisdictions, place these plans in effect.","path":["KRS Chapter 39A"],"source_url":"https://apps.legislature.ky.gov/law/statutes/statute.aspx?id=21709","current_through":"Includes enactments through the 2026 Regular Session","vintage":"09/05/2026","retrieved_at":"2026-09-05T20:48:58Z","sha256":"910db505f925501a2aee4aec5186f278cff7fecc11fdcebd2158322c40d894ec","source_id":"us-ky","stale":false,"prev":"us-ky/krs-39a.140","next":"us-ky/krs-39a.160"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
