{"data":{"id":"us-ky/krs-39a.210","jurisdiction":"us-ky","citation":"KRS 39A.210","heading":"Qualifications and oath of persons connected with disaster and emergency","body":"response organizations.\nNo person shall be employed or associated in any capacity in any disaster and emergency\nresponse organization established under this chapter who advocates  a change by force or\nviolence in the constitutional form of the government of the United States or in this state\nor the overthrow of any government in the United States by force or violence, or who has\nbeen convicted of or is under indictment or informati on charging any subversive act\nagainst the United States. Each person who is appointed to serve in an organization for\ndisaster and emergency response shall, before entering upon his or her duties, take an\noath, in writing, before a person authorized to ad minister oaths in this Commonwealth,\nwhich shall be as follows:\n\"I do solemnly swear (or affirm) that I will support the Constitution of the United\nStates and the Constitution of this Commonwealth and be faithful and true to the\nCommonwealth of Kentucky s o long as I continue a citizen thereof, and that I will\nfaithfully execute, to the best of my ability, the office of emergency management\ndirector according to law;\nAnd I do further solemnly swear (or affirm) that since the adoption of the present\nConstitution, I, being a citizen of this state, have not fought a duel with deadly\nweapons within this state, nor out of it, nor have I sent or accepted a challenge to\nfight a duel with deadly weapons, nor have I acted as second in carrying a challenge,\nnor aided or assisted any person thus offended, so help me God.\"","path":["KRS Chapter 39A"],"source_url":"https://apps.legislature.ky.gov/law/statutes/statute.aspx?id=21715","current_through":"Includes enactments through the 2026 Regular Session","vintage":"09/05/2026","retrieved_at":"2026-09-05T20:48:58Z","sha256":"507aa22177c18c9814662d8765892578d9694a73a20bd045c8f040173def46fe","source_id":"us-ky","stale":false,"prev":"us-ky/krs-39a.200","next":"us-ky/krs-39a.220"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
