{"data":{"id":"us-ky/krs-39b.040","jurisdiction":"us-ky","citation":"KRS 39B.040","heading":"Mutual aid arrangements with special districts and public and private","body":"agencies.\n(1) The local director of each local emergency management agency in the\nCommonwealth may develop or cause to be developed mutual aid arrangements\nwith special districts an d other public and private agencies within this\nCommonwealth for reciprocal disaster and emergency response aid and assistance\nin case of disaster or other emergency too great to be dealt with unassisted. The\narrangements shall be consistent with the Kentucky Emergency Operations Plan, the\nlocal emergency operations plan, and the comprehensive emergency management\nprogram of the Commonwealth, and in time of emergency it shall be the duty of\neach local disaster and emergency services organizational unit, inc luding each\nspecial district, and each public or private agency, to render assistance in\naccordance with the provisions of these mutual aid arrangements.\n(2) The local director of each local emergency management agency in the\nCommonwealth may assist the di vision, acting on behalf of the Governor, in\nnegotiation of reciprocal mutual aid agreements between the Commonwealth and\nother states, including foreign states or provinces, or their political subdivisions,\nand shall carry out the arrangements or any agreements relating to the local political\nsubdivision.","path":["KRS Chapter 39B"],"source_url":"https://apps.legislature.ky.gov/law/statutes/statute.aspx?id=21742","current_through":"Includes enactments through the 2026 Regular Session","vintage":"09/05/2026","retrieved_at":"2026-09-05T20:48:58Z","sha256":"7ada2377aecc35c52e899fbe6d3c60042841f783af3c1284461a757ecab9d602","source_id":"us-ky","stale":false,"prev":"us-ky/krs-39b.030","next":"us-ky/krs-39b.045"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
