{"data":{"id":"us-ky/krs-39e.030","jurisdiction":"us-ky","citation":"KRS 39E.030","heading":"Kentucky Emergency Response Commission -- Members -- Meetings.","body":"(1) The commission shall be composed of not more than twenty -five (25) members,\nincluding:\n(a) The director of the Division of Emergency Management of the Department of\nMilitary Affairs, who shall serve as chair;\n(b) The executive director of the Department of  Military Affairs, who shall serve\nas vice chair and shall serve as chair in the absence of the chair;\n(c) The executive director of the Kentucky Fire Commission or the executive\ndirector's designee; and\n(d) Representatives of the Energy and Environment Ca binet, the state fire\nmarshal, the Department of Kentucky State Police, the Office of the Attorney\nGeneral, the Department of Agriculture, affected industry, local government,\nhealth services, environmental interests, and other persons who have technical\nexpertise in the emergency response field as the Governor deems appropriate.\n(2) Members of the commission shall be appointed by the Governor. All appointments\nshall be for a term of two (2) years. Members shall serve until their successors are\nappointed and qualified and shall be eligible for reappointment.\n(3) The commission shall meet not less than semi -annually, or as convened by the\nchair, vice chair, or upon written petition of a majority of commission members to\nthe chair or vice chair.\n(4) If a member misses three (3) consecutive meetings of the full commission or three\n(3) meetings in two (2) consecutive years, the position shall be declared vacant by\nthe commission. In these cases, the Governor shall make an appointment to fill the\nunexpired term.\n(5) The presence of a simple majority of currently appointed members shall constitute a\nquorum and actions taken at these meetings shall be considered as actions of the full\ncommission.\n(6) Members of the commission shall not receive a salary for serving on  the\ncommission, but travel and per diem may be paid if funds are appropriated or\notherwise made available for these purposes.","path":["KRS Chapter 39E"],"source_url":"https://apps.legislature.ky.gov/law/statutes/statute.aspx?id=51220","current_through":"Includes enactments through the 2026 Regular Session","vintage":"09/05/2026","retrieved_at":"2026-09-05T20:48:58Z","sha256":"0200e8f43d29d67211e0eea4f12b53a1be5a52901c9a7ee280dbd8cf01ee8b6d","source_id":"us-ky","stale":false,"prev":"us-ky/krs-39e.020","next":"us-ky/krs-39e.040"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
