{"data":{"id":"us-ky/krs-39e.140","jurisdiction":"us-ky","citation":"KRS 39E.140","heading":"Political entities required to participate in local planning process.","body":"(1) City, county, urban -county governments, and charter county governments, school\ndistricts, special purpose district boards, or other municipal corporations or political\nsubdivisions of the state or local government shall participate in the planning\nprocess conducted by local emergency planning committees. This participation shall\ninclude, as a minimum, providing information concerning government -owned or\ncontrolled emergency response assets, reviewing plans developed by the committee,\nand concurring that the final plan can be executed with existing resources.\n(2) In local governments where local emergency management agencies receive state or\nfederal funds, those agencies shall provide administrative and planning support to\nthe committee as specified by the director of the division.\n(3) If state or federal funds are appropriated specifically to support emergency response\nplanning or other portions of Pub. L. No. 99 -499, these funds may be allocated to\nlocal emergency management agencies and may be expended as s pecified by the\ndirector.\n(4) Local governments may enact ordinances specifying standards which owners or\noperators of facilities shall meet to provide warning of releases to workers and to\nthe public which may be affected by a release.","path":["KRS Chapter 39E"],"source_url":"https://apps.legislature.ky.gov/law/statutes/statute.aspx?id=21782","current_through":"Includes enactments through the 2026 Regular Session","vintage":"09/05/2026","retrieved_at":"2026-09-05T20:48:59Z","sha256":"2928679ff93f67e1371630b0850059fbd163fe12202082ed28805705c6afcf16","source_id":"us-ky","stale":false,"prev":"us-ky/krs-39e.130","next":"us-ky/krs-39e.150"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
