{"data":{"id":"us-ky/krs-39f.050","jurisdiction":"us-ky","citation":"KRS 39F.050","heading":"Organization of general rescue squad.","body":"(1) A general rescue squad shall be organized pursuant to KRS 39F.020 or 39F.030 and\nshall engage in one or more of the activities listed in the definition of a general\nrescue squad. A general rescue squad may engage in any other activity, other than\nones prohibited by law or administrative regulation, if the activity is specified in its\nmission statement.\n(2) A general rescue squad shall not engage in a specialized rescue squad activity as a\nprimary mission unless it meets the requirements of subsection (3) of this section. A\ngeneral rescue squad may engage in a specialized rescue squad activity as an initial\nresponding unit within its service area, however, upon responding to such an\nactivity, the highest officer in command of the response shall cause the imme diate\nnotification of the appropriate specialized rescue squad, the local director, and the\nduty officer of the Division of Emergency Management.\n(3) A general rescue squad may engage in a specialized rescue squad activity if:\n(a) That activity is specified in its mission statement;\n(b) The rescue squad has twelve (12) persons including a commanding officer\nfrom within its membership of the rescue squad whose mission statement is to\nengage in the specialized rescue squad activity;\n(c) The persons assigned to the specialized rescue squad activity meet the training\nrequirements specified by statute and by administrative regulation;\n(d) The rescue squad has the equipment required by administrative regulation to\nengage in the specialized rescue squad activity li sted in its mission statement;\nand\n(e) The rescue squad has a vehicle for transporting the required equipment to the\nscene.","path":["KRS Chapter 39F"],"source_url":"https://apps.legislature.ky.gov/law/statutes/statute.aspx?id=21798","current_through":"Includes enactments through the 2026 Regular Session","vintage":"09/05/2026","retrieved_at":"2026-09-05T20:48:59Z","sha256":"0f5be301ec0b4a5acd0a83130501d9e9ab26d9ca22dc9c9dc1215b7feda33ddf","source_id":"us-ky","stale":false,"prev":"us-ky/krs-39f.040","next":"us-ky/krs-39f.060"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
