{"data":{"id":"us-ky/krs-39f.070","jurisdiction":"us-ky","citation":"KRS 39F.070","heading":"Specialized rescue squad -- Activities permitted.","body":"(1) A specialized rescue squad shall engage in one or more of the activities listed in the\ndefinition of a specialized rescue squad. A specialized rescue squad may engage in\nany other activity, other than the ones prohibited by law or administrative\nregulation, if the activity is specified in its mission statement.\n(2) A specialized rescue squad shall not engage in a general rescue squad activity as a\nprimary mission unless it meets the requirements of subsection (3) of this section. A\nspecialized rescue squad may engage in a general rescue squad activity as an initial\nresponding unit within its service area, however, upon responding to that activity,\nthe highest officer in command of the response shall cause the immediate\nnotification of the appropriate general rescue squad for assistance, the local director,\nand the duty officer of the Division of Emergency Management.\n(3) A specialized rescue squad may engage in a general rescue squad activity if:\n(a) That activity is specified in its mission statement;\n(b) The rescue squad has twelve (12) persons including a commanding officer\nfrom within the membership of the specialized rescue squad whose mission\nstatement is to engage in the general rescue squad activity;\n(c) The persons assigned to the general rescue squad  activity meet the training\nrequirements specified by statute and administrative regulation;\n(d) The rescue squad has the equipment required by administrative regulation to\nengage in general rescue squad activity as listed in its mission statement; and\n(e) The rescue squad has a vehicle for transporting the required equipment to the\nscene.","path":["KRS Chapter 39F"],"source_url":"https://apps.legislature.ky.gov/law/statutes/statute.aspx?id=21800","current_through":"Includes enactments through the 2026 Regular Session","vintage":"09/05/2026","retrieved_at":"2026-09-05T20:48:59Z","sha256":"c36cfe0183ea9904eb526378940e144271b2382a54928b036ce52abdc5acc536","source_id":"us-ky","stale":false,"prev":"us-ky/krs-39f.060","next":"us-ky/krs-39f.080"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
