{"data":{"id":"us-ky/krs-39f.090","jurisdiction":"us-ky","citation":"KRS 39F.090","heading":"Coordinating and planning responsibility.","body":"(1) The local search and rescue coordinator of each political subdivision, appointed in\naccordance with KRS 39F.200, shall be responsible for coordinating and planning\nfor local search and rescue activities. Operation of search and rescue activities shall\nbe i n accordance with the Kentucky Emergency Operations Plan, and the local\nemergency operations plan approved by the elected chief executives of each local\npolitical subdivision. The local search and rescue coordinator shall notify the duty\nofficer of the Div ision of Emergency Management of all search and rescue\nmissions. The local search and rescue coordinator shall work in a coordinating\ncapacity directly supporting all search and rescue activities in that political\nsubdivision, and in registering emergency search and rescue workers. The chief of\nthe appropriate law enforcement agency of each political subdivision may, upon\nrequest of the local director or local search and rescue coordinator, restrict access to\na specific search and rescue area to personnel a uthorized by the local director.\nAccess shall be restricted only for the period of time necessary to accomplish the\nsearch and rescue mission. An unauthorized person shall not interfere with a search\nand rescue mission.\n(2) When search and rescue activitie s result in the discovery of a deceased person or\nsearch and rescue workers assist in the recovery of human remains, the chief law\nenforcement officer of the political subdivision shall insure compliance with the\nprovisions of KRS Chapter 72.","path":["KRS Chapter 39F"],"source_url":"https://apps.legislature.ky.gov/law/statutes/statute.aspx?id=21802","current_through":"Includes enactments through the 2026 Regular Session","vintage":"09/05/2026","retrieved_at":"2026-09-05T20:48:59Z","sha256":"cce816671538d8718e4d2fc4254e39d00dc4d986911a21f6b1bcc7f9df9b937b","source_id":"us-ky","stale":false,"prev":"us-ky/krs-39f.080","next":"us-ky/krs-39f.100"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
