{"data":{"id":"us-ky/krs-39g.020","jurisdiction":"us-ky","citation":"KRS 39G.020","heading":"Records and reporting -- Education of reporting entities -- Notification of","body":"available grants.\n(1) The Kentucky Office of Homeland Security shall identify and maintain a record of\nall federal homeland security funding, including grants, received in Ken tucky. The\nrecord shall identify, at a minimum, the specific federal source, the amount, the\nspecific recipient, the intended use of the funding, the actual use, and any unspent\namount.\n(2) (a) Not later than September 15 of each year, each department head ed by an\nelected officer, as identified in KRS 12.020 I., each cabinet headed by an\nappointed officer, as identified in KRS 12.020 II., and each department headed\nby an appointed officer, as identified in KRS 12.020 III., shall submit to the\nKentucky Offic e of Homeland Security a record of all federal homeland\nsecurity funding, including grants, received during the state fiscal year starting\nwith the fiscal year ending June 30, 2005. The record shall identify, at a\nminimum, the specific federal source, the amount, the specific recipient, the\nintended use of the funding, the actual use, and any unspent amount.\n(b) Not later than August 1 of each year, each city, county, urban -county, charter\ncounty, consolidated local government, and special taxing district shall submit\nto its area development district a record of all federal homeland security\nfunding, including grants, received during the state fiscal year by the city,\ncounty, urban-county, charter county, consolidated local government, special\ntaxing district, or a public agency thereof, starting with the fiscal year ending\nJune 30, 2005. The record shall identify, at a minimum, the specific federal\nsource, the amount, the specific recipient, the intended use of the funding, the\nactual use, and any unspent amount.\n(c) Not later than August 15 of each year, each area development district shall\ngroup the records required under paragraph (b) of this subsection by county\nand submit them to the Department for Local Government.\n(d) Not later than September 20 of eac h year, the Department for Local\nGovernment shall submit the records received under paragraph (c) of this\nsubsection to the Kentucky Office of Homeland Security.\n(e) Any funds received for the purpose of homeland security shall be monitored\nby the Kentucky  Office of Homeland Security and subject to audit and\ncompliance inspections as directed by the executive director.\n(3) The Kentucky Office of Homeland Security, area development districts, and the\nDepartment for Local Government shall educate entities tha t report under this\nsection about their responsibilities under this section. If an entity is late in reporting\nunder this section, the office, an area development district, or the Department for\nLocal Government shall remind that entity of its reporting re quirements under this\nsection.\n(4) The Kentucky Office of Homeland Security shall directly notify the chief executive\nofficer of each city, county, urban -county, charter county, and consolidated local\ngovernment concerning grants for homeland security proj ects as the grants become\navailable.","path":["KRS Chapter 39G"],"source_url":"https://apps.legislature.ky.gov/law/statutes/statute.aspx?id=21817","current_through":"Includes enactments through the 2026 Regular Session","vintage":"09/05/2026","retrieved_at":"2026-09-05T20:48:59Z","sha256":"a00b54f2f0c7b357db39e0be1126123044e772439bcd9eba3229c4fa5a34eb52","source_id":"us-ky","stale":false,"prev":"us-ky/krs-39g.010","next":"us-ky/krs-39g.030"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
