{"data":{"id":"us-ky/krs-407.5605","jurisdiction":"us-ky","citation":"KRS 407.5605","heading":"Notice of registration of order.","body":"(1) When a support order or income -withholding order issued in another state or a\nforeign support order is registered, the registering tribunal of this state shall notify\nthe nonregistering party. The notice shall be accompanied by a copy of the\nregistered ord er and the documents and relevant information accompanying the\norder.\n(2) A notice shall inform the nonregistering party:\n(a) That a registered support order is enforceable as of the date of registration in\nthe same manner as an order issued by a tribunal of this state;\n(b) That a hearing to contest the validity or enforcement of the registered order\nshall be requested within twenty (20) days of the notice unless the registered\norder is under KRS 407.5707;\n(c) That failure to contest the validity or enforce ment of the registered order in a\ntimely manner will result in confirmation of the order and enforcement of the\norder and the alleged arrearages; and\n(d) Of the amount of any alleged arrearages.\n(3) If the registering party asserts that two (2) or more orders are in effect, a notice shall\nalso:\n(a) Identify the two (2) or more orders and the order alleged by the registering\nparty to be the controlling order and the consolidated arrears, if any;\n(b) Notify the nonregistering party of the right to a determina tion of which is the\ncontrolling order;\n(c) State that the procedures provided in subsection (2) of this section apply to the\ndetermination of which is the controlling order; and\n(d) State that failure to contest the validity or enforcement of the order al leged to\nbe the controlling order in a timely manner may result in confirmation that the\norder is the controlling order.\n(4) Upon registration of an income -withholding order for enforcement, the support\nenforcement agency or the registering tribunal shall notify the obligor's employer\npursuant to KRS 403.215 or 405.465.","path":["KRS Chapter 407"],"source_url":"https://apps.legislature.ky.gov/law/statutes/statute.aspx?id=45105","current_through":"Includes enactments through the 2026 Regular Session","vintage":"09/05/2026","retrieved_at":"2026-09-05T20:59:34Z","sha256":"07a817d1160d8ae56bca640e00e078786e31fb6a1998eba33fb6e3d3f332f0b6","source_id":"us-ky","stale":false,"prev":"us-ky/krs-407.5604","next":"us-ky/krs-407.5606"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
