{"data":{"id":"us-ky/krs-407.5801","jurisdiction":"us-ky","citation":"KRS 407.5801","heading":"Grounds for rendition.","body":"(1) For purposes of this section and KRS 407.5802, \"governor\" includes an individual\nperforming the functions of governor or the executive authority of a state covered\nby KRS 407.5101 to 407.5902.\n(2) The governor of this state may:\n(a) Demand that the governor of another state surrender an individual found in the\nother state who is charged criminally in this state with having failed to provide\nfor the support of an obligee; or\n(b) On the demand of the governor of another state, surrender an individual found\nin this state who is charged criminally in the other state with having failed to\nprovide for the support of an obligee.\n(3) A provision for extradition of individuals not inconsistent with KRS 407.5101 to\n407.5902 applies to the demand even if the individual whose surrender is demanded\nwas not in the demanding state when the crime was allegedly committed and has\nnot fled from the demanding state.","path":["KRS Chapter 407"],"source_url":"https://apps.legislature.ky.gov/law/statutes/statute.aspx?id=44144","current_through":"Includes enactments through the 2026 Regular Session","vintage":"09/05/2026","retrieved_at":"2026-09-05T20:59:34Z","sha256":"c23b696fb813f310a47e55bdcd3a90f52c27713ac501838bf460f73dd291e7f0","source_id":"us-ky","stale":false,"prev":"us-ky/krs-407.5713","next":"us-ky/krs-407.5802"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
