{"data":{"id":"us-ky/krs-41.010","jurisdiction":"us-ky","citation":"KRS 41.010","heading":"Definitions for KRS 41.070, 41.110, 41.120, 41.130, 41.280, 41.290, or 41.300","body":"-- Definitions for chapter.\n(1) As used in KRS 41.070, 41.110, 41.120, 41.130, 41.280, 41.290, or 41.300, unless\nthe context requires otherwise, the terms \"appropria tion,\" \"budget unit,\"\n\"disbursements,\" \"expenditures,\" \"expenses,\" and \"receipts\" have the meaning\ngiven them by KRS 43.010 and 48.010.\n(2) As used in this chapter:\n(a) \"Administrative body\" includes an authority, board, bureau, interstate\ncompact, commission, committee, conference, council, or any other form of\norganization in the executive branch of state government, but does not include\noffice, department, program cabinet, or division;\n(b) \"Agency\" means any state administrative body, program cabinet, of fice,\ndepartment, or division;\n(c) \"Assistant\" means assistant treasurer;\n(d) \"Bank\" includes any bank or savings and loan association chartered by the\nState of Kentucky or the United States government designated to take custody\nof state funds on deposit, for periods greater than overnight, with the intent to\nhonor presentments against those deposits;\n(e) \"Check,\" unless the context requires otherwise, means either a paper check or\na paperless entry on an electronic data processing medium that substitutes f or\na paper check and of which a permanent record is made for purposes of\ndebiting or crediting an account;\n(f) \"Collateral\" means the listed securities and other obligations in KRS\n41.240(4);\n(g) \"Form\" or \"report\" means any written method of transporting data;\n(h) \"Secretary\" means the secretary of the Finance and Administration Cabinet;\n(i) \"State depository\" means any bank designated to take custody of state funds\non deposit pursuant to KRS 41.220;\n(j) \"Warrant\" means a printed or electronic authorization from the Finance and\nAdministration Cabinet for the Treasurer to issue a check; and\n(k) \"Writing\" or \"written\" means letters, words, or numbers, or their equivalent,\nset down by handwriting, typewriting, printing, photostating, photographing,\nmagnetic impulse, mechanical or electronic recording, or other form of data\ncompilation.","path":["KRS Chapter 41"],"source_url":"https://apps.legislature.ky.gov/law/statutes/statute.aspx?id=51340","current_through":"Includes enactments through the 2026 Regular Session","vintage":"09/05/2026","retrieved_at":"2026-09-05T20:49:00Z","sha256":"4cdce790a8c04986b59d3c9a7d6b7b80687cf2677fcbb6d271e2fe60d1eef916","source_id":"us-ky","stale":false,"prev":"us-ky/krs-407.5903","next":"us-ky/krs-41.020"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
