{"data":{"id":"us-ky/krs-41.455","jurisdiction":"us-ky","citation":"KRS 41.455","heading":"Board chair and vice chair -- Quorum -- Meetings -- Expenses -- Conflict of","body":"interest -- Administrative support.\n(1) (a) The State Treasurer shall serve as chair of the board of the commission.\n(b) At the first board meeting following initial appointment of all board members,\nthe board shall elect a vice chair from its membership, and a vice chair shall\nbe elected annually thereafter.\n(2) The vice chair shall chair any meetings when directed to do so in writing by the\nState Treasurer.\n(3) (a) A majority of the commission board members shall constitute a quorum for\nthe purposes of conducting its business, exercising its powers, and for all\nother purposes.\n(b) In determining whether a quorum exists, vacancies on the board shall be\nconsidered.\n(4) (a) The board shall meet at least once a quarter.\n(b) The board may meet at other times:\n1. Upon call of the chair; or\n2. At the written request of a majority of board members;\nwith a minimum of a seven (7) day notice.\n(5) Board members shall receive no comp ensation for their services, but may be\nentitled to payment of reasonable and necessary expenses actually incurred in\nattending meetings, or discharging their official duties, subject to availability of\nfunding.\n(6) Any reimbursement of extraordinary travel expenses of board members, including\nbut not limited to attending conventions and conferences, shall be reasonable and\nnecessary and shall be approved by vote of a majority of the board during a meeting.\n(7) If any  board member has a direct or indirect interest in any organization,\ndepartment, or agency with which the commission seeks to enter into a contract:\n(a) The interest shall be disclosed and set forth in the minutes of the board; and\n(b) The board member hav ing the interest shall not participate in any action\ninvolving the organization in which he or she has the interest.\n(8) (a) The Kentucky State Treasury:\n1. Shall provide technical, clerical, and administrative assistance and\nsupport to the commission; and\n2. May provide state personnel, property, and resources to assist the\ncommission in its functions as set forth in KRS 41.450 to 41.465.\n(b) As funding is available, the commission may enter into a contract with the\nKentucky State Treasury as may be proper and appropriate for the provision of\nthese services and resources.","path":["KRS Chapter 41"],"source_url":"https://apps.legislature.ky.gov/law/statutes/statute.aspx?id=49237","current_through":"Includes enactments through the 2026 Regular Session","vintage":"09/05/2026","retrieved_at":"2026-09-05T20:49:01Z","sha256":"ce40a96b538f5a0cbd4f07a41bb4799057698cccba2caea2f3187b313985443d","source_id":"us-ky","stale":false,"prev":"us-ky/krs-41.450","next":"us-ky/krs-41.460"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
