{"data":{"id":"us-ky/krs-411.220","jurisdiction":"us-ky","citation":"KRS 411.220","heading":"Action by crime victim against stalker -- Damages -- Statute of limitations.","body":"(1) A civil action may be maintained under this section against any person who\ncommits the conduct prohibited under KRS 508.130, whether or not the individual\nwho is alleged to have violated KRS 508.130 has been charged or convicted of the\nalleged crime.\n(2) The action may be:\n(a) Brought by a victim, or a victim's parent or legal guardian on behalf of a\nvictim who is a minor; and\n(b) Filed in a court of competent ju risdiction in the county where the alleged\nviolation occurred or the county where the victim resides.\n(3) Liability under this section shall include the actual damages caused by the violation\nand may include punitive damages, court costs, and reasonable attorney's fees.\n(4) An action under this section shall be brought within two (2) years of the last act of\nconduct in violation of this section.","path":["KRS Chapter 411"],"source_url":"https://apps.legislature.ky.gov/law/statutes/statute.aspx?id=57442","current_through":"Includes enactments through the 2026 Regular Session","vintage":"09/05/2026","retrieved_at":"2026-09-05T20:59:35Z","sha256":"2305b86115e4d8466706fc13d070f9e01b24aeaf8e53ed62faecdbfabdcb1b2f","source_id":"us-ky","stale":false,"prev":"us-ky/krs-411.218","next":"us-ky/krs-411.225"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
