{"data":{"id":"us-ky/krs-413.090","jurisdiction":"us-ky","citation":"KRS 413.090","heading":"Action upon judgment, contract, or bond -- Fifteen-year limitation --","body":"Action for child support arrearages -- Time to commence action tolled until\nobligations cease as to last child on order.\nExcept as provided in KRS 396.205, 413.110, 413.220, 41 3.230 and 413.240, the\nfollowing actions shall be commenced within fifteen (15) years after the cause of action\nfirst accrued:\n(1) An action upon a judgment or decree of any court of this state or of the United\nStates, or of any state or territory thereof,  the period to be computed from the date\nof the last execution thereon;\n(2) An action upon a recognizance, bond, or written contract, except that actions upon\nwritten contracts executed after July 15, 2014, shall be governed by KRS 413.160;\n(3) An action upon the official bond of a sheriff, marshal, clerk, constable, or any other\npublic officer, or any commissioner, receiver, curator, personal representative,\nguardian, conservator, or trustee appointed by a court or authority of law;\n(4) An action upon an a ppeal bond or bond given on a supersedeas, attachment,\ninjunction, order of arrest or for the delivery of property or for the forthcoming of\nproperty, or to obey or perform an order or judgment of court in an action, or upon a\nbond for costs, or any other bond taken by a court or judge or by an officer pursuant\nto the directions of a court or judge, in an action or after judgment or decree, or\nupon a replevin, sale, or delivery bond taken under execution or decree, upon an\nindemnifying bond taken under a st atute, or upon a bond to suspend a proceeding,\nor upon a bond or obligation for the payment of money or property or for the\nperformance of any undertaking; and\n(5) An action to recover unpaid child support arrearages, which may be initiated as one\n(1) cumulative action for all child support arrearages owed under a court order, with\nthe time to commence an action under this subsection being tolled until all current\nchild support obligations cease as to the last child covered by that order.","path":["KRS Chapter 413"],"source_url":"https://apps.legislature.ky.gov/law/statutes/statute.aspx?id=43545","current_through":"Includes enactments through the 2026 Regular Session","vintage":"09/05/2026","retrieved_at":"2026-09-05T20:59:36Z","sha256":"a17267b57f570a9aab3fddccc2524b1d8ab4e4a5ff84d4f95f3d9e390f4c2931","source_id":"us-ky","stale":false,"prev":"us-ky/krs-413.080","next":"us-ky/krs-413.100"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
