{"data":{"id":"us-ky/krs-42.017","jurisdiction":"us-ky","citation":"KRS 42.017","heading":"Office of General Counsel.","body":"(1) The Office of General Counsel established within the Office of the Secretary by\nKRS 42.0145 shall be responsible for the coordination and provision of legal\nservices for the cabinet and for other functions and duties as the secretary may\nassign relating to the performance of the cabinet's legal services.\n(2) The Office of General Counsel shall be headed by an executive director who shall\nfunction as the general counsel. The executive director shall be appointed in\naccordance with KRS 12.210 and shall report  to the secretary. The Attorney\nGeneral, on request of the secretary, may designate attorneys in the Office of\nGeneral Counsel as assistant attorneys general as provided in KRS 15.105.\n(3) The Office of General Counsel shall consist of two (2) offices, eac h of which shall\nprovide legal services for its respective offices and departments, as follows:\n(a) Office of Legal Services for Finance and Technology, headed by an executive\ndirector and composed of organizational entities deemed appropriate by the\nsecretary of the Finance and Administration Cabinet; and\n(b) Office of Legal Services for Revenue, headed by an executive director,\nincluding organizational entities deemed appropriate by the secretary of the\nFinance and Administration Cabinet.","path":["KRS Chapter 42"],"source_url":"https://apps.legislature.ky.gov/law/statutes/statute.aspx?id=21950","current_through":"Includes enactments through the 2026 Regular Session","vintage":"09/05/2026","retrieved_at":"2026-09-05T20:49:01Z","sha256":"75617e20024a4481e37e812b073f2dbb7a1be9c80100fe08abe7a50bf1175525","source_id":"us-ky","stale":false,"prev":"us-ky/krs-42.016","next":"us-ky/krs-42.0171"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
