{"data":{"id":"us-ky/krs-42.580","jurisdiction":"us-ky","citation":"KRS 42.580","heading":"Definitions for KRS 42.580 to 42.588.","body":"As used in KRS 42.580 to 42.588:\n(1) \"Cabinet\" means the Finance and Administration Cabinet;\n(2) \"Demand-side management\" has the same meaning as in KRS 278.010;\n(3) \"Energy audit\" has the same meaning as in KRS 56.770;\n(4) \"Energy-efficient heating, cooling, ventilation, or hot water system\"  has the same\nmeaning as in KRS 141.435;\n(5) \"Energy-efficient interior lighting system\" has the same meaning as in KRS\n141.435;\n(6) \"Energy-efficient windows and storm doors\" has the same meaning as in KRS\n141.435;\n(7) \"Engineered demand -side management p roject\" means a project undertaken to\nreduce the amount of energy consumed in an existing structure, including but not\nlimited to:\n(a) Energy-efficient heating, cooling, ventilation, or hot water systems;\n(b) Energy-efficient interior lighting systems;\n(c) Energy-efficient windows and storm doors;\n(d) Qualified energy property;\n(e) Upgraded insulation;\n(f) Solar water-heating systems; and\n(g) Any other energy conservation me asures that will reduce energy costs,\nincluding those that will use solar power, either active or passive;\n(8) \"Private sector building\" means a building owned by a private retail, commercial, or\nindustrial business;\n(9) \"Public sector building\" means a bu ilding owned by the Commonwealth of\nKentucky, any public university of the Commonwealth, or any public community\ncollege of the Commonwealth;\n(10) \"Qualified energy property\" has the same meaning as in KRS 141.435;\n(11) \"Simple payback period\" has the same meaning as in KRS 56.770;\n(12) \"Solar water-heating system\" has the same meaning as in KRS 141.435; and\n(13) \"Upgraded insulation\" has the same meaning as in KRS 141.435.","path":["KRS Chapter 42"],"source_url":"https://apps.legislature.ky.gov/law/statutes/statute.aspx?id=43278","current_through":"Includes enactments through the 2026 Regular Session","vintage":"09/05/2026","retrieved_at":"2026-09-05T20:49:02Z","sha256":"9e2db89af1bbb25e8e6e0d155c8133a12edf4fde3b7ed0483c99dcc6f4ff4044","source_id":"us-ky","stale":false,"prev":"us-ky/krs-42.574","next":"us-ky/krs-42.582"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
