{"data":{"id":"us-ky/krs-42.655","jurisdiction":"us-ky","citation":"KRS 42.655","heading":"Geographic information clearinghouse -- Availability to state agencies --","body":"Administrative regulations.\n(1) The geographic information clearinghouse maintained by the Division of\nGeographic Information Systems shall be the sole database of geogr aphic\ninformation maintained by state agencies. The Division of Geographic Information\nSystems shall make the clearinghouse available to all state agencies.\n(2) The division shall make all reasonable efforts to collect and present geographic\ninformation in a manner that meets the needs of all state agencies.\n(3) Pursuant to the procedures described in KRS 12.090, any head of a state agency\nmay request modifications to the methods of geographic information collection and\npresentation utilized by the Division  of Geographic Information Systems to meet\nthe needs of the state agency.\n(4) State agencies shall, whenever possible, request and use nonlicensed geographic\ninformation in order to allow the Division of Geographic Information Systems to\neffectively discha rge its statutory responsibility to maintain an accurate and\ncomplete central statewide geographic information clearinghouse for official state\nuse.\n(5) State agencies shall, whenever possible, consolidate their requests for the collection,\npurchase, or cr eation of geographic information into multiagency projects to\nminimize redundancy within the clearinghouse and to lower overall costs.\n(6) The Division of Geographic Information Systems may promulgate necessary\nadministrative regulations for the furtherance of this section.","path":["KRS Chapter 42"],"source_url":"https://apps.legislature.ky.gov/law/statutes/statute.aspx?id=53175","current_through":"Includes enactments through the 2026 Regular Session","vintage":"09/05/2026","retrieved_at":"2026-09-05T20:49:03Z","sha256":"a4a27c680ee2286906947407f60516ea7858dcba2ac9a8d4f8b50885ed005d97","source_id":"us-ky","stale":false,"prev":"us-ky/krs-42.650","next":"us-ky/krs-42.660"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
