{"data":{"id":"us-ky/krs-42.732","jurisdiction":"us-ky","citation":"KRS 42.732","heading":"Kentucky Information Technology Advisory Council -- Purposes --","body":"Members.\n(1) There is hereby created the Kentucky Information Technology Advisory Council to:\n(a) Advise the executive director of the Commonwealth Office of Technology on\napproaches to coordinating information technology solutions among libraries,\npublic schools, local governments, universities, and other public entities;\n(b) Advise the executive director of the Commonwealth Office of Technology on\ncoordination among and across the organizational units of the executive\nbranch of state government to prepare for, respond to, and prevent attacks;\nand\n(c) Provide a forum for the discussion of emerging technologies that enhance\nelectronic accessibility to various publicly funded sources o f information and\nservices.\n(2) The Kentucky Information Technology Advisory Council shall consist of:\n(a) The state budget director or a designee;\n(b) The state librarian or a designee;\n(c) One (1) representative from the public universities to be appoint ed by the\nGovernor from a list of three (3) persons submitted by the Council on\nPostsecondary Education;\n(d) Three (3) citizen members from the private sector with information\ntechnology knowledge and experience appointed by the Governor;\n(e) Two (2) representatives of local government appointed by the Governor;\n(f) One (1) representative from the area development districts appointed by the\nGovernor from a list of names submitted by the executive directors of the area\ndevelopment districts;\n(g) One (1) member of the media appointed by the Governor;\n(h) The executive director of the Kentucky Authority for Educational Television;\n(i) The chair of the Public Service Commission or a designee;\n(j) Two (2) members of the Kentucky General Assembly, one (1) from each\nchamber, selected by the Legislative Research Commission;\n(k) One (1) representative of the Administrative Office of the Courts;\n(l) One (1) representative from the public schools system appointed by the\nGovernor;\n(m) One (1) representative of the Kentucky Chamber of Commerce; and\n(n) The executive director of the Commonwealth Office of Technology.\n(3) Appointed members of the council shall serve for a term of two (2) years. Members\nwho serve by virtue of an office shall serve on the council while they hold the\noffice.\n(4) Vacancies on the council shall be filled in  the same manner as the original\nappointments. If a nominating organization changes its name, its successor\norganization having the same responsibilities and purposes shall be the nominating\norganization.\n(5) Members shall receive no compensation but shall  receive reimbursement for actual\nand necessary expenses in accordance with travel and subsistence requirements\nestablished by the Finance and Administration Cabinet.","path":["KRS Chapter 42"],"source_url":"https://apps.legislature.ky.gov/law/statutes/statute.aspx?id=56753","current_through":"Includes enactments through the 2026 Regular Session","vintage":"09/05/2026","retrieved_at":"2026-09-05T20:49:03Z","sha256":"2d7b218064a65097247aba533e49dca6b6585a50a2bc7f217fe70e530a204651","source_id":"us-ky","stale":false,"prev":"us-ky/krs-42.731","next":"us-ky/krs-42.734"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
